Cody was born in Dampier and grew up in Leonora a Torres Strait Islander who grew up in the desert, as his father was one of many Islander men who worked on the railroads

Did all primary schooling in Leonora and parents sent Cody away for high school

Cody worked in the city after high school lots of different jobs but moved back to Kalgoorlie after 2 child was born. He was doing the cert 2 in Aboriginal Health worker but his wife got pregnant and need money so he took a job at Bega Health service as Reception but then in 2007 the opportunity to do Environmental Health came up and took it have done cert 2 and cert 3 and a cert 4 in teaching and assessing

But biggest achievement is the 5 Beautiful kids
