Dr Angela Pitts

Dr Angela Pitts is a Senior Policy Analyst/Project Officer for the NSW Health Aboriginal Environmental Health Unit, working particularly on Housing for Health (HfH) projects in Aboriginal communities throughout NSW. Angela holds a PhD from the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning, University of Sydney (USYD), and a Master’s Degree (MA) in Urban and Regional Planning and a MA in African Area Studies from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She has extensive experience in urban, regional and community development working in Africa, Australia, the U.K. and the U.S.

Over the past 15 years, Angela has worked closely with Aboriginal communities on various projects including Aboriginal health and housing, comprehensive planning and design of Aboriginal housing, community social plans and Aboriginal homelessness. She is currently working on the delivery of the NSW Health Environmental Health Response to Acute Rheumatic Fever and Rheumatic Heart Disease aimed to improve environmental living conditions in Aboriginal communities and raise awareness of the disease.
