Thunggutti Local Aboriginal Land Council

Born and bred on Thunggutti country, Aunty Ruth grew up on the Nulla Reserve experiencing life under Mission managers, racism and cruelty, and the loss of her husband and three of her six children. She grew up with elders, grandmothers and grandfathers who passed on knowledge and understanding. She is a cultural, spiritual woman, on the Board of Directors of Thunggutti Land Council and Many Rivers Regional Housing Corporation. Aunty Ruth is called upon to work with schools offering Welcome to Country and cultural training in the valley. Her experiences have strengthened her and made her a role model.
