Bob Modee

Bob Modee is from Stephens Island, also known as Ugar in the native language. The island is located near the Great Barrier Reef and north of Coconut Island (also called Poruma) and northwest of Murray Island, and west of Darnley Island Torres Strait Queensland, Australia. The island is administratively managed by the local government area of the Torres Strait Island Region. Ugar It is the smallest island in the Torres Strait with beautiful reef flat surrounding the island. Ugar holds the population of 40 -50 people not including the Families living away. Ugar is a Volcanic Island with rich fertile soil. There is no airstrip on Ugar, Community, Visitors and contractors travel in by Helicopter or Boat (Dingy) from Neighbouring Islands, (Darnley and Yoke Island).


Bob began his career in Cairns working for an organisation called Choice Australia Management Ltd. in mid 2010 - 2011 Choice Australia Management worked in-conjunction with Cairns Regional Council (CRC). Bob Started his new work with the CRC. In 2012- 2013 Bob worked as has a Scapey also known as Scape shape Land Contraction. In 2014 Bob moved to Ugar, with his partner and son to start his new career as an Environmental Health Worker (EHW) for Torres Strait Island Regional Council (TSIRC) at Ugar community.

Bob has been an Environmental Health Worker for 3 years, and was given an opportunity when Bob was asked to perform a role in a higher level duty in October and December 2016 acting in the Senior Environmental Health Worker Position for some time. Bob is now a Senior Environmental Health Worker for (TSIRC) 4 Years.
